Brazil 2027 is the tenth edition of the FIFA Women's World Cup and the first ever held in South America. FIFA awarded the tournament to Brazil in May 2024, and the calendar is now fixed: the opening match on 24 June 2027 and the final on 25 July 2027, both at the Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro. Thirty-two teams play 64 matches over 32 days.
The eight host cities and stadiums
FIFA confirmed eight venues, all of them 2014 World Cup stadiums, so the infrastructure is already tested at this scale. Capacities are the figures published for the tournament.
- Rio de Janeiro — Maracanã (73,139): opening match and final
- Brasília — Arena BRB Mané Garrincha (69,910)
- Belo Horizonte — Mineirão (66,658)
- Fortaleza — Arena Castelão (57,867)
- Porto Alegre — Beira-Rio (50,848)
- São Paulo — Neo Química Arena (48,905)
- Salvador — Arena Fonte Nova (47,915)
- Recife — Arena Pernambuco (45,440)
Format: 32 teams, eight groups, five knockout rounds
The format is the one introduced in Australia and New Zealand 2023: eight groups of four, the top two of each group advance to a round of 16, then quarter-finals, semi-finals, a third-place match and the final. There are no best-third-placed teams — a group's third place goes home. Knockout ties level after 90 minutes go to extra time and, if needed, penalties.
The 18 teams already qualified
As of September 2026, 18 of the 32 places are taken. The remaining slots will be decided by the ongoing continental qualifiers and an inter-confederation play-off tournament.
- CONMEBOL: Brazil (hosts), Argentina, Colombia
- AFC: Australia, China, Japan, North Korea, Philippines, South Korea
- CAF: Algeria, Cameroon, Malawi, Morocco
- UEFA: Denmark, France, Germany, Spain (more to come from the European qualifiers)
- OFC: New Zealand
Latin America will have at least three teams in Brazil: the hosts plus Argentina and Colombia, who booked their places through the 2025 Copa América Femenina. CONCACAF's places — with the United States, Canada and Mexico among the contenders — are decided later in the cycle.
The draw: 11 December 2026 in Rio
The final draw takes place on 11 December 2026 at the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro. Brazil, as hosts, will be seeded in Group A and open the tournament at the Maracanã. Once the groups are known, Mundialoop will publish the full match schedule with kick-off times in your time zone, the bracket path for every team and the polla (prediction pool) for the tournament.
